Need-based undergraduate scholarship program funded by the National Science Foundation
The University of Illinois at Chicago Chemical Engineering Department is offering scholarships to incoming Chemical Engineering freshmen and transfer students. Recipients’ unmet financial need will be supported up to $5,000 for one year (two semesters) for students making satisfactory academic progress.
Who is eligible?
These scholarships are targeted toward financially needy Chemical Engineering undergraduate students who are US citizens or permanent residents. Women, Latino, African American and Native American students are especially encouraged to apply.

The S-STEM Scholarship is only for new student applicants. Current students at UIC are not eligible.
Advantages of the scholarship
As ChemE Scholars, scholarship recipients will receive faculty mentoring and assistance with co-op placement.
