Check-in with campus housing

WHEN: You can check in from 8 o'clock in the morning until midnight on June 2.

WHERE: Campus Housing East Area Office, located at 700 South Halsted Street. The following pictures (please click on thumbnails for larger images) show you views along the path from the sidewalk to the check-in desk. Check-in is just a short walk along a skyway from the conference.

Good restaurants nearby are

• Giordano's (Italian, pizza).
  815 West Van Buren Street (corner of Halsted and Van Buren, SW end of intersection).
  Walk north on Halsted, passing by Harrison. The next intersection is Van Buren, where you will find Giordano's on the left hand side.

• Greek Town restaurants (e.g., Parthenon, Greek Islands, Pegasus)
  Keep walking north along Halsted beyond the intersection with Van Buran, and you will find many excellent Greek restaurants on your left hand side.

Registration on Tuesday morning, June 3

WHEN: 8:00-9:00 AM

WHERE: The MTSM registration desk will be at the bottom of the 2nd floor escalators leading up to the third floor of Student Center East. Walk south from the check-in desk along the 2nd floor skyway until you reach the escalators.

The 2014 Midwest Thermodynamics and Statistical Mechanics Conference will be held on June 3-4 at the University of Illinois at Chicago. This conference provides a forum for researchers in all aspects of thermodynamics and statistical mechanics, both theoretical and experimental, to present their work. A particular focus of the meeting is to provide a forum for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty.
