Need-based undergraduate scholarship
program funded by the National Science Foundation
The University of Illinois at Chicago
Chemical Engineering Department
is offering scholarships to incoming Chemical
Engineering freshmen and transfer students.
Recipients’ unmet financial need will be supported
up to $6,000 per year for up to 3 years
($18,000 maximum) providing continued funding each
year for students making satisfactory academic progress.
Who is eligible?
These scholarships are targeted toward financially
needy Chemical Engineering undergraduate
students who are US citizens or permanent
residents. Women, Latino, African American and
Native American students are especially encouraged
to apply.
Advantages of the scholarship
As ChemE Scholars, scholarship recipients will receive
a summer orientation program, faculty mentoring,
research and internship/co-op opportunities,
and assistance with career placement.
